This kind of stories just keep coming up.
A couple of months ago the story surfaced about a woman, who (4 years ago) went for a coffee. She happenned to walk by a dumpster, and, instead of distancing herself from such an unpleasant place, she actually looked at it. And, guess what? There, amidst the junk, she saw a large painting. The woman was drawn to the painting so much, she hauled it home… and the rest is a history, except that the painting “Tres Personajes” by Rufino Tamayo was sold November 20, 2007 at Sotheby’s New York Action House for $1,049,000…

Also, a few weeks ago ancient 18th Century Chinese vase, with a mistaken identity of being a copy, was finally pronounced an original, and after spending three decades hidden in the closet, was triumphally sold at Sotheby’s for $5.87 mil.
