Accidental Investment Results in Occidental Graffiti Worth 1,000,000 euro
I think you have to be really open minded to invite a bunch of teenagers to paint anything at all, and on a top of it to give them a free rein on creativity and promise a rave on the premises. Would you do it? You see, sometimes, it pays off. In this case, the the saying “And the rest is a history” is a perfect match.
Look at the Swiss Embassy’s case in London. One of the young painters, who at one time was invited to freshen up the image of the Swiss Embassy’s parking garage in London, happened to be Banksy, who went on to become an artist, whose graffiti works are somewhat difficult to order, diffucult to hide, difficult to obtain and transport; and for all these reasons they are high in demand and widely collectible. The parking garage has at least 21 Banksy’s paintings with an estimated worth a cool 1 million euro…
First time ever you can see this patricular collection of his paintings and properly introduced by a reporter, too.
Click on the link of Guardian.co.uk and see the most bizzare, but interesting and arresting display of paintings by one of the most contradictory artists in UK and, probably, the world. See the multiple Andy Warhol-nesque 21 portraits of Lenin with a mohican-spiked hair, Mona Lisa with a target icon on the forehead and other gems in a form of the dogs and smarty writing; all is a highly valued modern art displayed on the walls of the garage.
Hope, you’ll find time to read an original article and the related material. Enjoy!
