Now, that we’ve established this fact, lets see why it lately became the “it” thing of the food realm and who talks about it.
Panini’s been around for a long time now, but all of a sudden it experienced a remarkably fast rise in the popularity.
Why is it popular?
Nicely presented grilled sandwich is ordered in fashionable restaurants and neighborhood cafes and may be prepared fairly quick. Panini is a really versatile dish, which with a variety of ingredients, can be modified into a plethora of interesting, appetizing offerings.
Who talks about it?
Oprah included panini maker in her “Oprah’s favorite things 2007″ list.
Read it here: Oprah Presents 2007 Holiday Gifts
It also shows her preferred recipe for a panini preparation and presentation, which she calls a “Love Sandwich”.

Where and how can you join the panini craze?
The www.cooking.com shows 36 items for the “panini” search, and only 2 of those are “panini makers”, while all others are “grilled sandwich makers” or “grills”, which doesn’t make them any less attractive.
Will it qualify for a “unique gift” status?
Well, if you don’t have a “George Foreman’s Grill” by now, or simply want a new piece of cooking artillery, I think, you may definitely consider this as a gift for yourself or anybody else on your list; and with the abudance of recipes on line you’ll add many unique items to your cooking arsenal and firmly establish a chief in you as well. With preparation and cooking time of 10 to 20 min, enjoy your time in the kitchen and bask in the sea of compliments, as you should.

I received a panini maker with recipe book a couple years back. It was a great gift and I’ve used both many times over. Its perfect for making last minute appetizers too!
