Today, I’d like to add some more information to complete my post (on Nov. 27) about dictionaries.  As I’ve mentioned, Miriam-Webster’s OnLine Dictionary can be installed on your browser’s tool bar, or rather under it. The bar contains M-W Dictionary, Thesaurus and Word of the Day buttons.  Every time you need to look up a word, the bar is within the reach, and if English is your second language, you may hear the pronunciation as well. You may also sign up for the word of the day to be delivered to your E-Mail box. If you visit that side now, you’ll find a voting that’s going on: name the word of the year. There are “ESL” and “For kids” tabs, as well as “The Visual” and “Word Central”, which contains a neat feature:”Buzz Words”. Check it out. You’ll like it.

And, by the way, if your browser is blocking cookies, it will try to block the pop-up window of the M-W dictionary with the word you are requesting. Nothing to worry about, there is a solution: while holding down Ctrl button, click the M-W button. You’ll get your word.

Please visit Miriam-Webster OnLine Dictionary and enjoy the experience.
