]]> Have you been to Spain? If yes, then you’ve seen one of the most beautiful and impressive architectural wonders of Barcelona the Sagrada Familia. Designed and partly built by the famous Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi (the construction is still going on after 125 years from the start) the imposing church attracts tourists and locals alike for the sheer vastness of the space occupied and the filigree mastery of the structural elements made of the heavy concrete.

 
Who knows how the plans to let the line of the underground high-speed train pass by only four meters away from the landmark got approved, but it did. The project, approved by the Spanish government, should have two of the most important cities of Spain connected by the train, traveling underground between Barcelona and Madrid, and eventually reach the French border in 2009. The construction is slated to start in March 2008.

 
The colossal size of the monument is impressive, but will it hold against the vibration of the ground, sent by the moving train? Even if the protective walls are built, will they be enough to hold the waves of sound and movement of the underground progress?
It seems, that the campaign around the corrections in the plans is in its apogee, but will it lead to the actual changes in the project? Lets wait and see.
